2009-2010 Training Schedule
Training will be held during the discipleship time on Wednesday evenings after the River (approx 7:15pm)  All are welcome, even those not currently a part of the worship ministry or a part of Third Church.

September 16 & 23:  Music Theory Made Easy – Have you ever wanted music to make sense?  The intro to this course will get you on your way.  Paul Baloche teaches via DVD easily understood concepts such as: chord construction, the Nashville Numbers System, and recognizing chord progressions by ear.  You’ll be able to follow up this class on your own via Third’s website. 

October 14:  Playing keyboard on a worship team
– Weather you are a classically trained pianist or just getting started on keys, this session will teach you how to read chord charts, and play within the structure of a worship team.  Music Theory Made Easy is highly recommended before taking attending this session.

November 11:  Guitar Fretboard Theory -  It doesn’t matter if you are a guitar wiz or a beginner, fretboard theory is useful at all levels.  We’ll dig into fretboard theory and do a QandA for those who are more advanced.   Music Theory Made Easy is highly recommended before taking attending this session.

December 9:  Acoustic Guitar for Today’s Music – Come to learn useful acoustic guitar techniques, chord substitutions and voice leading ideas.  This session will add color to your acoustic playing.  Guitar Fretboard Theory is recommended prior to this session.

January 10, 2010:  Bass ‘n’ Drums:  Building a Strong Foundation – Drummers and Bass players are invited to a hands on workshop where we’ll discuss techniques to make the rhythm section stronger and build a rock solid foundation for the rest of the song.  Be sure to bring your bass and your drumsticks. 

February 10:  Vocal Training: Increase Your Range and Sound Great Doing it! -  We all want to be better singers and have a larger range.  Come to this vocal training session to learn the proven techniques by Nashville vocal teacher Brett Manning. 

March 10:  How to Get the B-3 Sound on a Keyboard - Come to learn how to use our regular keyboards to emulate authentic B-3 organ sounds used in contemporary music.  Take your keyboard playing to another level!
